Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has announced that it is extending its global cruise suspension again, this time through October as cases of the coronavirus continue to surge.

All voyages set to sail from Oct. 1 to 31 have been canceled under the announcement from the cruise line. Previously, Norwegian extended its operation suspension through the end of September.

The company, which operates the Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands, said it will continue to provide an update at the end of each month on its cruise schedule status, which will include any potential extensions.

Norwegian Cruise Line has also partnered with Royal Caribbean Group on the development of cruise health and safety standards to help combat the coronavirus pandemic. Together, the cruise lines have formed the Healthy Sail Panel, which is comprised of a series of experts in public health, infectious disease, biosecurity, hospitality, and maritime operation industries.

Norwegian Cruise Line, which has 28 ships, said it is also working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the federal government and global public health authorities to “take all necessary measures to protect its guests, crew, and the communities visited.”

The CDC previously issued a “no-sail” order for cruise lines that will expire on Sept. 30.

Shares of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings were trading at $14.27 as of 12:28 p.m. ET, up 5 cents or 0.39%.
