A special education teacher based in New York City for allegedly making a 9-year-old girl with autism touch his private area in front of the whole class.

48-year-old Marc Scheibel was taken into custody after he forced a non-verbal student to touch his groin area, said the New York Post, citing police sources.

An adult captured Scheibel's indecent behavior on video and reported the lewd incident, sources told NBC New York.

Scheibel, a veteran teacher with nearly two decades of experience, was arrested at The Carl Ullman School in Oakland Gardens around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday after they were notified by the school principal.

A spokesperson for the New York City Department of Education described Scheibel's behavior as “completely unacceptable” and has since reassigned him “away from the classroom.”

“He will not have any interactions with the students,” the representative said in a statement.

Scheibel was charged with sexually abusing a child and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
