In an apparent murder-suicide case in Ohio on Sunday, an estranged couple was found dead. Police said that the bodies were found at a home in Clermont County.

Union Township Police Lt. Scott Blankenship said officers arrived at the home in the 1200 block of Misty Lake Lane around 12:45 p.m. to investigate a disturbance. When authorities arrived, they heard gunshots. The Clermont County Special Response Team also responded to the scene.

The victims were identified as Christophe Takam, 49, and Annie Takam, 40, the news release from Union Township police said.

According to Blankenship, Christophe and Annie were in an estranged relationship at the time of the incident. The exact cause of death remains unknown.

The preliminary police investigation revealed that Christophe fired shots while officers were on the scene. Other details about the incident remain unknown, local media reported.

In another incident last week in Washington, a man shot and killed his estranged wife's boyfriend before turning the gun on himself. Police said the man showed up at the woman's workplace and said he wanted to talk to her boyfriend.

Lt. Chris Lawler, a public information officer for the Lakewood Police Department, said officers responded to a shooting at St. Clare Hospital. When they arrived at the scene, they found two men with gunshot wounds. The woman, who was present at the scene, said that her estranged husband whom she was divorcing, insisted on meeting her new boyfriend and then opened fire at him.

“He said, ‘Hey, I want to talk to your new boyfriend,’” Lt. Chris Lawler said, according to local media. “As soon as they met, the estranged husband opened fire on the boyfriend.” The victim was shot multiple times.
