One would think that having the last name Jenner would open up a world of opportunities. Just think who it’s already associated with. There’s makeup mogul Kylie Jenner, retired Olympian Caitlyn Jenner, and let’s not forget infamous boss lady Kris Jenner. For one of Caitlyn's sons though, he says the name could potentially cost him his dream.

On Friday, Brandon Jenner opened up in an interview with Shira Lazar and Ryan Mitchell, hosts of Channel Q's "Let's Go There," about how things have changed over the years.

"Things have changed for me a lot," the 38-year-old said. "... Just the rise of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' has changed the idea of what the last name Jenner, you know, what kind of a person I'm going to be."

Brandon went on to explain how the name used to give him a “real sense of pride." “When I was a kid I would hand over my driver's license or my ID when I was younger and someone would look at it and say ‘Oh you are you Bruce Jenner’s kid?' and they would want to shake my hand,” he explained.

Now, the musician feels that the name can be a hindrance when it comes to his craft. “I sometimes almost am a little ashamed of it,” he said, referring to the surname Jenner. “... I feel like people are going to have this preconceived notion that I’m just kind of like a spoiled kid who doesn’t have anything to say... and hasn’t struggled in their life.”

Despite his worries that people will be “quicker to write [him] off” and not “want to give [his] music a chance” because of his last name, the singer-songwriter has just released new music. You can watch the video for Brandon's new single “Death Of Me” off of his EP “Plan On Feelings” on YouTube.
