Will Kira (Skyler Wexler) ever trust Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) again in “Orphan Black” Season 5? BBC America

“Orphan Black” Season 5, episode 4 recently saw Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) struggling to win her daughter, Kira’s (Skyler Wexler) love and trust.

In “Let the Children and Childbearers Toil,” Sarah reunites with Kira briefly after the latter chose to be with Rachel (Maslany). The lead character tries to convince her daughter that Rachel is the one she shouldn’t trust, but Kira is not having it. Even though she’s a little bit confused about Rachel since the latter clipped her fingernails and took her blood, Kira still wants to be with her over her own mom.

When it was finally time to say goodbye, Sarah reaches out for Kira, but she suddenly cries out in pain. Sarah raises her daughter’s shirt and finds that she has a cut in her arm. She immediately decides to bring Kira back home so that Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and Felix (Jordan Gavaris) would also know what’s happening to their family member.

But this is when Kira shocks everyone and tells them that Rachel did not hurt her. In fact, it was the young girl that tried to hurt herself. When Sarah asks why she did this, Kira tells her that she wants to know how quickly her wounds can heal. This experiment will also give the Leda clones an idea how powerful and dangerous Kira could be. In the end, Mrs. S urges Rachel to stick with Kira no matter what since she, and not Sarah, knows how to deal with the young girls.

Elsewhere, P.T. Westmorland (Stephen McHattie) surprisingly saved Susan (Christy Bruce). Even after turning her daughter against her, the head of Neolution made it clear that he still needs Susan. It was later on revealed that a certain character named Virginia Coady (Kyra Harper) who worked with Susan and P.T. Westmorland on the latter’s first human project. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned to they ended up creating a monster.

While Coady tells Sarah and Mrs. S those details, the scene cuts to Cosima (Maslany) discovering P.T. Westmorland’s subject residing in his basement.
