As Leonardo DiCaprio walked toward the stage to collect the best actor award for his role in “The Revenant” at the Oscars 2016 Sunday night, memes that had been ridiculing the actor for not being able to win the award died down. Fans all over the world rejoiced with him, giving way to a new slew of memes that came along with the big win for the 41-year-old actor — this was DiCaprio's sixth Academy Award nomination.

DiCaprio received his first nomination in 1993 for best supporting actor for “What's Eating Gilbert Grape” but lost to Tommy Lee Jones, who won for “The Fugitive.” In 2005, he was again nominated for best actor for his role in “The Aviator.” In 2007, he was nominated for “Blood Diamond” while in 2014, he landed a nomination for “The Wolf of Wall Street”— both in the best actor category. However, he still couldn't take the golden statue home.

This year though, things seemed to favor the “Titanic” actor who swept critics and viewers off their feet, as he also won several other awards for the movie. And, with sixth time the charm at the Oscars, the memes and gifs on DiCaprio's win flooded the internet.

Here are some of the best and most hilarious memes, vines and gifs inspired by DiCaprio’s big win Sunday.
