  • A new villain may be introduced in "Ozark" Season 4
  • The fans may get to meet Darlene's mother
  • Netflix has yet to pick up the show for another season

Darlene (Lisa Emery) is a ruthless character and the reason for her insane behavior may be explained in “Ozark” Season 4. According to a theory about the show, a new villain may be introduced who will have a huge impact on some of the other characters.

Ruth (Julia Garner) referred to Darlene as being “bats--t crazy,” and she isn’t wrong. The character has a dark past that started with her youth, which molded her into a formidable villain. According to a theory by Screen Rant, the fans will get to learn more about the character and why she turned out the way she did when they will meet her mother.

In a way, the Season 3 finale teased the arrival of Darlene’s mother during a conversation between Ruth and Wyatt (Charlie Tahan). That conversation seemed like a comedic scene at that time, but it may have been a way for the writers to foreshadow the things to come in “Ozark” Season 4.

The TV series needs new villains, and Darlene’s mother may be exactly the kind of character that can fill this role. The new villain can not only play a role in the ongoing conflict related to the various characters and the war of the drug cartel, but she will also be important for Darlene’s character development.

Netflix is yet to pick up the show for another season. In a recent interview with Collider, lead cast member Jason Bateman said that he and the others are hoping that the show gets picked up. The company usually evaluates the numbers for a few weeks to see if there is justification for a TV series to continue, and right now they are in that evaluation stage.

Given the popularity of the TV series it may be only a matter of time before “Ozark” Season 4 is announced. The show made it to the list of TV series that are worth watching that was compiled by TV Insider.

The first season was a decent crime-drama with engaging characters while the darker tone of the second installment made the show even more interesting.
