Kensington Palace responded to claims about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry raising their baby as “gender fluid.”

The palace said that those reports suggesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be raising their child as “gender fluid” are “totally false.” Royal commentator Robert Jobson wasn’t expecting that the palace would respond and felt that it was a mistake to do so because they don’t always address rumors, so he felt that the move was just to “stamp some authority.”

“Clearly, the Palace themselves, these guys that are in the press office jobs want to stamp some authority. That is probably why they have got involved in this at the moment,” Jobson said on Channel 7’ s Sunrise” before adding “to me it’s a bit of a mistake.”

“If you start commenting on whether they are going to raise the baby gender fluid, the point is, are you going to comment on everything?” Jobson continued questioning the palace’s move. For him, the move was “a bit ludicrous.”

The rumors about Prince Harry and Markle raising a “gender fluid“ baby came to be after her lavish baby shower in New York. A source claimed that the duchess has been talking to some of her friends about her birth and how she and Prince Harry plan to raise their baby. The former actress used the word “fluid.” However, the source wasn’t clear what Markle meant by it.

Markle’s baby shower was heavily criticized by royal experts. According to Angela Levin, the lavish celebration was an “exhibition of extravagance at a time of national hardship.” It was also a bad timing as Kensington Palace just announced that poor families struggle to feed their children.

Levin called Prince Harry to step in and contradict his wife when necessary. She understands that the Duke of Sussex is emotionally vulnerable, but he should find his voice when it comes to his extremely determined partner.

On the other hand, royal experts Omid Scobie and Chris Ship don’t agree with the criticism against Markle. According to them, Prince William and Kate Middleton also have huge baby expenses because their photo shoot at the Lindo Wing and their private family vacation costs the same as the security needed for Markle’s baby shower in New York.
