Musical artist Phoebe Bridgers and Irish actor Paul Mescal are engaged, according to a report Sunday by The Guardian.

Mescal, 26, has starred in the hit Hulu series, "Normal People." The actor received a British Television Academy Award for Best Actor and an Emmy nomination for his role in the show. While rumors have been circulating for months, the actor reported the engagement in ab interview published Sunday in the Guardian.

Bridgers, 28, has become a chart-topping indie musician with her songs, "Motion Sickness" and "Kyoto." The artist has received four Grammy nominations and is set to open for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour next year.

The couple has been dating for two years. They first publicly interacted on Twitter in May of 2020 after the musician shared her affinity for the show "Normal People." Mescal responded to the tweet saying, "I'm officially dead."

The Guardian interview confirmed that the couple exchanged flirty direct messages following the tweet, which led to them becoming an official pair.

They first publicly appeared together on the red carpet at the 2021 LACMA Art+Film Gala. Since then, the duo has appeared at a number of Hollywood outings together including the 2022 Met Gala. Mescal also made a cameo in Bridgers' music video, "Savior Complex" earlier this year.

In a GQ interview, Mescal expressed his emotions for Bridgers over the past two years.

"To have someone to lean on through such a mad, mad time has been invaluable," he said. "Really, I don't know where I'd be without her."

Bridgers shared in a Guardian interview that she wrote her song "Sidelines" about Mescal.

"Writing about my relationship with only good [expletive], because that's all I feel, is hard," she said. "But it makes it easy when you're actually having those feelings."
