A woman was arrested on Tuesday for assaulting a two-year-old boy under her care. According to police, the incident took place in Pennsylvania, in January.

The accused, identified as 24-year-old Jasmine Jade Krasley from Millersburg, was arrested and charged for abusing a 2-year-old toddler in her care.

Police stated that a child abuse investigation was prompted when the victim was first treated at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in late January. The boy was being treated for injuries to his face and neck.

Upon further investigation, officials were able to identify that the injuries occurred when the toddler was under Krasley’s care. The Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office’s Child Protection Unit investigated the case, following which, a criminal complaint was filed against Krasley and she was taken into custody on Tuesday.

According to online court documents, she was charged with multiple felony counts of aggravated assault, endangering welfare of children, and a misdemeanor charge of strangulation. She was currently being held at Dauphin County Prison for a bail of $50,000, according to police. The relationship between the accused and the victim was not revealed. It was also not known where the child's parents were at the time.

A preliminary court hearing was scheduled for April 27.

In a similar incident that took place earlier this month. A teenage dad was arrested in Bryan, Texas, after his five-week-old daughter was found with multiple broken bones. The incident came to light when a local hospital contacted the Child Protective Service while treating the baby for several injuries including a cracked skull, broken ribs and bruises to her face and genitals. The mother of newborn told police that her boyfriend, identified as 19-year-old Gabriel Sanchez, was looking after the baby while she was out working.

Following the incident, Sanchez was taken into custody. When questioned, the accused told investigators that the girl had rolled off the bed and injured her head against a nightstand placed adjacent to the bed after he had “lightly slapped” her for crying. However, the police concluded that the injuries did not match the story. Sanchez was arrested and charged with serious bodily injury to a child. He was held at Brazos County Jail on a $70,000 bond.
