Isaiah Stokes has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man in New York City in February.

The 41-year-old TV actor is accused of killing Tyrone Jones, of Queens Village, on Feb. 7 in Jamaica, Queens, Entertainment Weekly reported, citing the Queens District Attorney's Office. Stokes has appeared in several TV series, most recently "Power," and is also a hip-hop artist under the moniker I$AIAH, according to his IMDb page.

Stokes was indicted by a Queens grand jury Friday on charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

"The defendant is accused of unloading nearly 11 shots during this brazen afternoon shooting," Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a press release. "Gun violence is all too prevalent in our neighborhoods. We will not allow it to become the norm."

The alleged incident happened on the afternoon of Feb. 7. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Stokes exiting a car near the intersection of Linden Boulevard and 200th Street and then firing 11 rounds into a parked Jeep Grand Cherokee, NBC New York reported, citing police.

Jones was later pronounced dead by paramedics. Prosecutors have not revealed the motive for the slaying.

Stokes is due to appear in court Monday and faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Stokes could not be reached for comment, and it was not clear whether he had a defense attorney who could comment on the matter, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Stokes was raised in Rochdale Village, a neighborhood in Queens. He attended college at Delaware State University, Variety reported. His acting career coincided with the film debut of rapper Cam'ron in the 2006 crime drama "Killa Season," which was timed to the release of his album of the same name.

Aside from "Power," Stokes also made appearances in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Rescue Me," "The Americans," "Louie," "Boardwalk Empire," "The Mysteries of Laura" and "Blue Bloods."
