Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, are expecting a baby girl.

Announcing the gender of their first child on Instagram, Irwin, 22, posted a photo in which the wildlife conservationists are surrounded by a variety of pink flowers. Powell, 23, holds up her sonogram as they pose next to a large tortoise.

"Baby girl, you are our world," she captioned the snap. "Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year."

Powell shared the same photo on his Instagram and said he was excited to meet their daughter.

"Our little girl and my beautiful wife are my entire world. I’m so excited to meet our daughter when she’s born next year and to see the incredible person she will grow up to be," he wrote.

Shortly after the reveal, congratulatory messages poured in from family, friends and netizens.

Irwin’s younger brother, Robert, who also reposted the photo, said he was excited to meet his niece.

"Ahhhh so exciting!!! You’ll both be such wonderful parents to this baby girl!" the Instagram account of Animal Planet wrote.

"Oh my goodness, that is so exciting! I look forward to meeting your little girl!" actress and animal advocate Emmy Perry commented.

Irwin, daughter of the late Australian wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin, and Powell have been in a relationship since 2013 and got married in March. Their wedding ceremony was an intimate affair held at Australia Zoo.

Before her wedding, Irwin said she was excited to have children and pass along the legacy of her father, who inspired millions to love wildlife through the phenomenally popular television series "The Crocodile Hunter."

Irwin announced her pregnancy in August, just five months after tying the knot with Powell. The former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant shared the good news by posting a photo of herself and her husband dressed in their Australia Zoo uniforms as they hold up a miniature version of their outfit.

Irwin revealed that she was in her first trimester but wanted her fans to be part of the journey from the beginning.
