Frank Lampard is looking to add new players by the next transfer window but financial limitations are standing in the way. Aside from that, some players remain unsigned such as Willian and Pedro. With obstacles ahead, the Blues coach is now pressed to regroup and work within those boundaries. A potential recourse is to target cost-friendly players who can blend in with his system.

In a previous post, it was mentioned how the Blues are planning to make one major signing. It appears Lampard has gotten the backing of management to acquire a striker. Among the players who could be on their radar are Timo Werner, Moussa Dembele or even Jadon Sancho. One of them could be acquired but Lampard may need more help if Chelsea is to make better progress. There are several names available but it appears the 41-year-old coach has his eyes on Jesus "Tecatito" Corona.

According to Corona's agent, Matias Bunge, discussions have already taken place for the Porton winger. However, the player agent admits that he has no idea as to the priority level of his client. He believes it would be best to wait a bit longer. With football action expected to resume this month, Bunge believes more clarity can result in the coming months.

"We’ll have to wait a bit for this to continue moving forward and for the leagues to begin again, and from there see what the next movements will be because the market is a little bit stopped," Bunge told Medio Tempo.

If the deal is made, Corona could take the place of Willian who could exit after this season. The Brazilian wanted a three-year deal but was offered only two by Chelsea. However, those demands were before the COVID-19 pandemic. The scenario has changed and the 33-year-old mentioned in another previous post that he would be open to signing a temporary deal. It could be a one-year deal, similar to the one signed by Willy Caballero and Olivier Giroud.

If not Willian, Corona could fill in for Pedro Rodriguez instead. The 32-year-old's future is also uncertain and he has yet to strike a new deal with the Blues. Lampard does have options but is likely to prioritize his existing players. If they fail to come to terms, players like Corona may get the chance to play at Stamford Bridge.
