President Joe Biden penned a sweet Valentine's Day tribute to his wife of over 40 years, Dr. Jill Biden, over the weekend.

Biden took to Twitter Sunday to share a sweet photo of him hugging his wife during his inauguration, with both of them wearing masks. He captioned it with a short but sweet message for Jill.

"The love of my life and the life of my love. Happy Valentine’s Day, Jilly," he wrote.

Twitter users flooded Biden's post with their own messages of love, support and admiration of the couple's long-lasting marriage. Many also wished the first couple a happy Valentine's Day.

"It is so refreshing to have a president who really loves and respects his spouse," Dr. Jeffrey Guterman commented.

"Happy Valentine's Day Joe & Jill. I know it's exhausting that half of the country behaves like school bullies but just enjoy the day and hope that people for once behave like they, according to their age, definitely should," another commented.

"Thank you for bringing family values back to the Whitehouse," a third user wrote, adding, "PS Please put the Kennedy Rose Garden back in."

"You all are just adorable. I’m so happy you found each other! What examples you are. God bless both of you! Now...go enjoy your evening, you silly kid," another user wrote with heart and kiss emoji.

Some expressed their frustration over being separated from their loved ones due to the travel restrictions imposed during the pandemic. Some netizens called out Biden in the hashtag, "#LoveIsNotTourism."

"You've inflicted a lot of pain on people since you became President but this takes the cake, you KNOW you're separating hundreds of thousands of people from their partners with travel bans you openly criticized last year. We voted for relief and you ignored us. #LoveIsNotTourism," one commented.

"I wish you could feel the loneliness we’re feeling because you don’t allow us to do what you’re doing in that photo: hugging your partner. We NEED to reunite. A year separated. + empathy and - being proud of love issues if you do NOTHING for us. Exemptions NOW #LoveIsNotTourism," another user added.

Others couldn't help but compare Biden and his wife's relationship with that of former President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump.

"Definitely not something Trump and Melania would be doing," one commented.

Meanwhile, Melania penned her own Valentine’s Day tribute over the weekend but made no mention of her husband. Instead, she remembered the "brave and inspirational" children she had visited at The Children's Inn at the National Institute of Health when she was still first lady.

"On this #ValentinesDay, I think of the brave & inspirational children at @TheChildrensInn @NIH where I visited the past few years," she wrote. "Sending them love & strength, today & everyday. #HappyValentinesDay."
