“Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale is not one to take an invasion of her privacy lightly.

The actress, via her lawyer Marty Singer, has threatened to sue Celeb Jihad after the gossip site posted photos of her topless, according to TMZ. The site reportedly posted two photos of Hale which exposed her breasts. The photos, according to Hale’s lawyer, were meant for a friend, but the actress’s phone was hacked.

Hale’s photos have reportedly been taken down, according to E! News, and have been replaced with edited images, saying the actress will “never silence” them.

While Hale did not directly address the situation, she tweeted a message of thanks to her fans, saying: “I love you guys. Thanks for having my back always.”

Hale is the latest celebrity to have their photos published online without their consent. Earlier in December, photos of “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams posing topless during a vacation also surfaced online. Jennifer Lawrence, Troye Sivan, Victoria Justice, Vanessa Hudgens and Justin Bieber are among the many other celebrities whose private photos have been released online.

Despite living under the public eye, celebrities have every right to keep their personal lives private. Lawyer Carrie Goldberg argued that the issue with these types of cases are not focused on nudity but consent and privacy. Speaking with the New Yorker, Goldberg said: “Are you just supposed to never take your clothes off? You can’t get naked, you can’t take a shower? Are you never supposed to go out in public in a skirt?”

Golberg continued: “Or what about images where somebody’s face has been Photoshopped onto somebody else’s naked body? What’s getting distributed isn’t necessarily images that were consented to in the first place. That’s why it’s the distribution you have to focus on.”
