Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles will have to move out from Clarence House when the Queen dies.

The Prince of Wales will take over the throne when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passes away. When this happens, Prince Charles and Camilla will have to move out from their current four-storey home, Clarence House, and move into Buckingham Palace, which is under renovation.

"Buckingham Palace will be his residence just as it is now for the Queen," a Clarence House spokesperson told Daily Star.

Unfortunately, the future king is not a fan of Buckingham Palace, which is dubbed as the "big house." In fact, he wanted to make the 775-room palace into a museum instead.

"He doesn’t see it as a viable future home or a house that’s fit for purpose in the modern world," a source told Sunday Times. "He feels its upkeep, both from a cost and environmental perspective, is not sustainable."

The publication asked Clarence House if Prince Charles would use the site as a second home instead and the spokesman said, "It will not." The speaker also declined to comment on what will happen to Clarence House after Prince Charles and Camilla move out.

On the other hand, Royal Central editor Charlie Proctor "wouldn't bet against [Prince Charles] staying at his current home." He believes that the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will keep Clarence House.

"It is widely assumed that when he takes to the throne, Prince Charles will move into Buckingham Palace – a building associated with housing the monarch for many centuries," Proctor explained. "However, I think it is perfectly possible that Charles & Camilla will decide to live in Clarence House, their current home, when The Queen dies."

"Clarence House has been Charles & Camilla's home for 15 years now. They have made it homely and are comfortable. Who wants to move from their perfect home, especially at their time of life?" he added.

On the other hand, anti-monarchy campaign group Republic encouraged Prince Charles to step down if he doesn't like the terms and condition of his new job as a king.

In related news, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to move out of Kensington Palace. According to an insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to have a separate life from Prince William and Kate Middleton so "it only makes sense for them to live further."
