Prince Charles and wife Camilla Parker Bowles have teamed up with several A-list stars to record a special holiday video narrating the nearly 200-year-old Christmas tale, "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," for charity.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall recorded an ensemble reading with Daniel Craig, Tom Hardy, Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley and "Sex Education" star Ncuti Gatwa in support of the Actors' Benevolent Fund (ABF), People reported. Dame Penelope Keith, president of ABF, joined them in reading extracts in the video.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla invited some of the actors to their London home Clarence House to record the poem individually. Hardy, Smith, Dench, Craig and Gatwa read their lines at the royal couple's residence while following all COVID-19 regulations. Those who couldn’t make it recorded the poem remotely.

Prince Charles and the duchess shared a sneak peek on their Twitter and Instagram. "Something special is coming this Christmas Eve. Stay tuned for a festive treat, in support of the Actors’ Benevolent Fund," the post read.

The full video will be released on Christmas Eve.

The poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" was published first anonymously in 1823 and attributed to Clement Clarke Moore in 1837 when he claimed authorship.

Prince Charles, as the patron of the Actors’ Benevolent Fund, came up with the idea of doing an ensemble reading after the charity approached him regarding the struggles of the people working in the theater and film industries.

The charity helps actors, actresses and stage managers who are unable to work because of old age, illness and other problems and are experiencing financial hardship.

Prince Charles and Camilla are art lovers and often attend classical concerts, theater, opera performances. The royal couple also enjoys visiting galleries and exhibitions.

Not too long ago, they paid a visit to London's Soho Theater and music venue The 100 Club and heard about all the struggles faced by people working in creative industries this year.

After Queen Elizabeth canceled the royal family’s annual holiday celebration at Sandringham due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Prince Charles and Camilla decided to spend their holiday season together at their Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House.
