Prince Charles and Princess Diana weren't io good terms during their last royal trip abroad.

In 1992, the Prince and late Princess of Wales visited South Korea weeks before their separation was announced. During the outing, Prince Charles and Princess Diana's couldn't hide their dislike towards each other and even ignored one another.

Mirror shared snaps taken during the trip, and the pair looked distant and unhappy. In one photo, they were looking at different directions and appeared bored and uncomfortable while sitting beside each other.

In another snap, Princess Diana and Prince Charles walked beside each other, but didn't look happy at all. The gloomy pictures landed on the front page of Mirror with the headline, "Tortured – how much longer can this tragedy go on."

"They arrived in Korea with orders to present the image of a loving couple," James Whitaker, Mirror's correspondent on the trip, reported from Seoul. "Instead, stony-faced, they ignored each other, not even exchanging a look. Their eyes never met. There was no physical contact. It was as if they were two strangers."

The four-day trip was supposed to show the world that Prince Charles and Princess Diana could still live with each other after months of speculations that their marriage had hit the rock bottom. Unfortunately, from the moment they landed in the capital of Seoul, the two royals couldn't fake to display mutual affection. In fact, in the first 90 minutes, the future king and Princess Diana did everything to avoid one another. They couldn't even look at each other.

Photographer Arthur Edwards opened up the matter to Yahoo's The Royal Box this week. He also noticed how Prince Charles and Princess Diana ignored each other.

"It was only when we went to Korea, the last tour when you knew it was all over them because they couldn’t bear to be in each other's company. It was so miserable. And a month later, the prime minister announced in the House of Commons, and I suppose no one was then surprised, we watched them in Korea," Edwards explained.

In related news, Prince Charles and Princess Diana were seen bickering in the archive footage of the documentary "Charles and Di: In Private and Public." In one scene, Prince Charles poked his ex-wife's left side, but Princess Diana rejected his advances.
