Prince William just revealed that his two children, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte have been taking ballet lessons.

While hosting a reception at Kensington Palace last week, Prince William told 14-year-old Junior, a dancer that campaigns against bullying, that his children love to dance as well.

“George is dancing as well. He loves it,” the proud dad exclaimed.

Prince William also mentioned his late mom, Princess Diana, during his conversation with the teenager. He said that the Princess of Wales loved to dance when she was still alive.

“My mother always used to dance, she loved dancing. And if it’s something you love, you do what you love. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Keep at it,” he said.

According to People, Prince George is taking up ballet lessons in school because his Year 1 curriculum at Thomas’s Battersea includes a 35-minute session every week. The future king’s ballet classes are also accompanied by a live pianist.

Prince George’s school curriculum follows the Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary in Dance syllabus. The lessons are aimed at developing the students’ physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression, and musicality.

Earlier this year, Prince William revealed that Princess Charlotte also loves dancing. Kate Middleton also revealed that her only daughter has been taking lessons as early as 3 years old.

Princess Charlotte studies at Willcocks Nursery School. A source told People, “They chose the nursery because they thought it would be an ideal first step for Charlotte’s education, and they were impressed by the team who work there.”

According to The Sun, when Princess Diana was very young, she also took up ballet lessons. At one point, she also wanted to pursue dancing professionally. Anne Allan, Princess Diana’s former ballet teacher, told the publication that dance was in the princess’ soul.

“I realized the pure enjoyment that it gave her. She loved the freeness of being able to move and dance… I could see it helped to alleviate her emotional life,” she said.
