Prince Harry Fears Meghan Markle’s ‘Meltdown’; Announcement Done Based On Duchess Well-Being

Prince Harry was reportedly afraid that Meghan Markle might have a meltdown.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised many when they announced that they are stepping back from their royal roles. According to the couple, they will continue to collaborate with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince William, and they will work to be financially independent.

However, a source said that the shocking announcement was not perfectly timed. Prince Harry was concerned for his wife and Markle’s well-being dictated the timing of the big news that they dropped last week.

“The statement was rushed out and part of the reason for that is that Harry knew he needed to take swift action,” a source said.

“Meghan has not settled in the UK and he knows that and wants her to be happy.”

The insider added that one of the things Prince Harry feared was the possibility of Markle having a “meltdown” while she is in Britain. So, right after they announced their resignation, Markle flew back to Canada to reunite with their son Archie.

It turned out that Markle and Prince Harry left their son in the country where they spent the year-end holidays. According to another report, Markle dropped a major clue that she’s not returning to the U.K.

Prince Harry and Markle’s resignation is expected to affect Prince William and Kate Middleton. Some deemed the Sussexes’ decision selfish because they weren’t thinking of the workload they would be leaving to the Cambridges.

“Harry and Meghan deciding to up sticks and leave without any thought about how it could affect them is pretty selfish. If the Sussexes are only here half the year then it will fall to William and Kate to pick up the slack with more engagements, more pressure, and that has not even been considered,” a source told The Mirror.

Prince Harry is set to meet Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Prince William for the first time after their announcement. The Duke of Sussex will have to attend the meeting alone since Markle is in Canada.
