Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared to be feuding at this weekend’s Trooping the Colour. According to a body language expert, there was an obvious tension between the royal couple.

While speaking with Express, Judi James said that the Duke of Sussex didn’t look happy to be at Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday celebration. He was photographed with a blank but slightly wary expression, which he has been doing a lot recently.

In the past, the new dad’s default expression was always his naughty-looking grin and it has always been difficult for him to look serious at important occasions. But on Saturday, it was evident that Prince Harry didn’t look happy to be with the members of the royal family.

Markle, on the other hand, smiled and waved to the crowds after surprising them with her second appearance at the Trooping the Colour. It was unclear if the Duchess of Sussex would attend because she just gave birth to her one month ago.

“There were also some empathic signals to suggest Kate and Meghan do want to be seen as friendly sisters-in-law. Meghan looked happy when she chatted to Kate using eye contact,” James said.

The body language expert credit Prince Harry’s much serious and tensed body language to his becoming a new father. Additionally, rumors of an alleged feud between him and Prince William might have also left a negative impact on him.

And while riding the carriage during the procession, Prince Harry and Markle’s facial expression couldn’t be more different.

“Meghan’s symmetric mouth shape and the rounding of her cheeks and narrowing of the eyes suggested a genuinely delighted smile as she greeted the crowds again for the first time since Archie’s birth. Harry seemed to be attempting to mirror her delight but his smile was much less convincing here… His teeth were clenched, suggesting more tension, and his lower jaw slightly jutted, which can hint of resolution and determination,” she said.
