KEY POINTS

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveled to U.K. to attend the Platinum Jubilee festivities
  • The royals are worried they might use photos from their trip as content in their upcoming Netflix docuseries
  • No pictures of Her Majesty’s first meeting with their younger child has been released

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at risk of permanent estrangement from the royal family.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been warned that they will be “totally cut off” from the family if they disclose any information about the recent Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth.

Any decision made by the royal couple to leak private information about the four-day affair might lead to them being permanently cut off from the royal family, Larcombe wrote in an article for Closer Magazine.

He also revealed that while they had hoped to patch things up with the family while in the U.K., things did not go as planned as they hit “a brick wall” with some senior members of the royal family.

Prince Harry and Meghan were invited to the U.K. to take part in the Platinum Jubilee festivities but were reportedly warned not to overshadow Queen Elizabeth’s historic event. According to Larcombe, “the test really begins now” that the celebrations are over.

“They have come to the U.K. and to the Jubilee and really cemented themselves as royals again—which is great for their brand and something that Spotify, Netflix and Penguin will be eating up,” he said. “But everything now depends on their behavior moving forward.”

The royal couple traveled from California with their children but no photographs of Her Majesty’s first meeting with their younger child, Lilibet, has been released.

Larcombe told the outlet that royal family fears Prince Harry and Meghan might use behind-the-scenes photos from their recent U.K. trip as content for their upcoming Netflix docuseries, which is expected to air later this year alongside the release of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir.

“Clearly an olive branch has been extended by the royal family here,” said Larcombe. “But Harry and Meghan would ruin that if any private information about this weekend was spoken about to the press or revealed in a book. If anything from the weekend leaked, I imagine they’ll be totally cut off and that’ll be it.”

Meanwhile, the royal expert said if Prince Harry and Meghan prove they can be trusted by the family, then it could be “a huge step in the right direction and the start of a new beginning.”
