Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just released a new statement regarding their bombshell exit from the royal family.

On their official website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seemingly complained about the 12-month review period that was put in place to ensure that their decision will not only benefit them but also the royal family.

“While there is precedent for other titled members of the royal family to seek employment outside of the institution, for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a 12-month review period has been put in place,” the statement read.

A royal source told Mirror UK that it is highly likely that the royal couple was throwing shade at Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are not considered as working royals but who continue to use their royal titles.

“It’s pretty clear they are referencing minor royals such as Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, which is an odd association to make for two people whose associates were once claiming they had single-handedly modernized the monarchy,” the source said.

Another source claimed that Prince Harry and Markle’s recent statement proved that they are ostracizing themselves further away from the royal family rather than attempting to build bridges.

“We’re witnessing a quite extraordinary turn of events. The British people will not stand for two multi-millionaires demanding taxpayer funds after abandoning the country they should be serving. The latest series of comments published on the Sussexes’ website comes across as extremely petulant and has caused a great deal of alarm inside the palace,” the source said.

Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told “Sunrise” that Prince Harry and Markle’s recent statement is unnecessary. Even though the royal couple simply wanted to make a point, they didn’t really have to.

According to the royal expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feel victimized by being put on 12-month probation especially since they initially wanted to use their titles and continue to be part-time working royals. However, the Queen didn’t agree with their requests.
