Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding will take place on the same day as the FA Cup Final 2018. But fans of both may be able to watch the two events unfold live on screen.

According to the Daily Echo, discussions are currently taking place in Ringwood on how they can hold a live screening of the wedding and the FA Cup final on May 19, 2018.

The publication noted that in previous years, the FA Cup final started at 5:30 p.m., but details about Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding ceremony are still being kept under wraps. This makes it difficult for the town of Ringwood to release their official viewing schedule.

Ringwood town councilor Philip Day said that the opportunity to live screen both events seemed like a great opportunity. “Given the popularity of the street party held to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday party in 2016, we started thinking that it might be possible to do a similar thing for the wedding,” he said.

Day said that after mentioning their plans at a recent council meeting, it was evident that they had everyone’s support. “We await further details of exactly at what time the wedding will take place but the idea is to hire a large outdoor screen and erect it in the Market Place so that people can watch the entire event in the open,” he explained.

In order to make the viewing party a massive success, Day and his staff are planning to hire food and drinks vendors. They will also be closing the entire Market Place to eliminate traffic in the area.

“By coincidence, the FA Cup final is also scheduled to take place later that day, so in the hope that it will feature either Southampton or Bournemouth, or even both, we could also show the game live,” he said.

Meanwhile, organizing the live screening of both events on the same day isn’t cheap, but Day assured that they have the funds for it. The councilor said that they generated profits from their previous events, and this will be used for the upcoming live screening.
