Prince Philip once gave Prince Charles sensible advice when taking photographs. And the future King shared the tip with actor Stephen Fry.

During his appearance on the “Graham Norton Show,” Fry told the audience the secret that Prince Charles shared with him.

“The Prince of Wales did tell me once the best piece of advice his father had ever given him. When you are doing a photograph, you are doing a lineup and there are women, always look into their eyes… Don’t for a second let your eyes drop to their chest… That’s when the photograph goes on,” he said.

The British actor directed the audiences’ gaze to the screen that shows a photo of Prince Charles meeting the Spice Girls, Jennifer Aniston, and other women. Fry said that Prince Charles wasn’t looking down at the women in the photo. Instead, his gaze is kept upward.

Meanwhile, even though the Duke of Edinburgh gave Prince Charles sensible advice about taking photos, not all of his tips are actually good. In fact, one of his pieces of advice caused a huge problem with Prince Charles.

Several years ago, Prince Philip convinced his eldest son to ask for Princess Diana’s hand in marriage or to let her go completely. Royal expert Robert Jobson said that the future King decided to propose to Princess Diana even though he knew that he didn’t want a life-long commitment with her.

And during her interview with Andrew Morton, the Princess of Wales revealed how Prince Philip told Prince Charles that if his marriage doesn’t work out in five years, he could always go back to Camilla Parker Bowles. And this is exactly what Prince Charles did.

Growing up, Prince Philip and Prince Charles didn’t also have a close relationship. The former saw the latter as soft so he didn’t resonate with him. Prince Philip was closer to Princess Anne because they have similar personalities.
