  • Prince Harry and Prince William were spotted chatting after the funeral on Saturday

Prince Harry and Prince William looked amicable at Prince Philip's funeral last week, but this does not mean that they have reconciled, according to a report.

Royal fans were happy to see the Duke of Sussex reuniting and chatting with his older brother and Kate Middleton at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle Saturday. But while it's a "good start," a family friend told People that it will take much more for the brothers to put their rift behind them.

"I think it's a good start and it was lovely to see but this whole argument runs so deep, I don't think there is any quick fix," the unnamed source said.

There is still a long road ahead for the royal family's reconciliation with Prince Harry, and it's possible things will get worse before they get better, unnamed royal insiders told the outlet.

"Knowing family, it can mend a bit and then can slip back a bit," the source added.

All eyes were on Prince William and Prince Harry at their grandfather's funeral service, which marked the first time the brothers had been seen publicly since the Duke of Sussex stepped back as a working royal and moved to California with wife Meghan Markle and son Archie.

Body language expert Elaine Swann said the royal siblings showed signs of reconciliation during the service. Another expert, Judi James, also said there was a "genuine moment of unity rather than something contrived for the cameras."

Royal biographer Katie Nicholl, meanwhile, credited Kate Middleton for being the peacemaker for Prince William and Prince Harry. She noted that the duchess is close to her brother-in-law, and Prince Harry said Middleton was the sister he never had.

However, an unnamed source told Vanity Fair that Prince William and Prince Harry simply put their differences aside for the funeral for the sake of their family. The tipster said the royal family has not forgiven Prince Harry and Markle for their revelations and claims during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

"William and other members of the family have some very strong feelings about some of the things Harry and Meghan said on Oprah and things need to be talked through, but this was not the occasion and everyone respected that. It's going to take more than a wake to sort things out, but this is hopefully a start," the insider added.
