Prince William knew that his 8-year-old son Prince George would be jealous of his close encounter with a python.

The Duke of Cambridge and Duchess of Cambridge visited Ulster University Magee Campus’ Kidz Farm in Northern Ireland Wednesday. During the trip, Prince William was able to hold a python with his bare hands, and he said Prince George would be jealous of him.

"George is going to be so upset," Prince William was quoted by Us Weekly as saying. "The children are not going to believe I did this."

The future king described the reptile as "very soft." When the handler noted that the snake was female, the royal replied, "I won’t ask you how you know it’s a she, we’ll talk about that later."

Prince William and Kate Middleton share three kids together, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3. The Duchess of Cambridge joined the duke on the outing and was photographed holding a tarantula.

According to the royal couple's tweet, the tarantula was named Charlotte, just like their 6-year-old daughter. In a video shared by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in October 2020, Princess Charlotte mentioned that she loves spiders.

"Hello David Attenborough! I like spiders, do you like spiders too?" Princess Charlotte asked.

"I love spiders, I'm so glad you like them!" Attenborough replied in the clip. "I think they're wonderful things. Why is it that people are so frightened of them? I think it's because they've actually got eight legs which are much more than us and if you've got eight legs, you can move in any direction so you can never be quite sure which way that spider's going to go."

The English broadcaster and natural historian also believed that the spiders' hairy legs are another factor why many people are afraid of them. The "A Life on Our Planet" author noted that "spiders are so clever" as shown by their extraordinary ways of building their web.

Prince William, Middleton and their kids love animals. The video with Attenborough also featured Prince George and Prince Louis. Prince George asked the broadcaster which animals would go extinct in the future, while the Cambridges' youngest child asked Attenborough about his favorite animal.
