Princess Diana was once photographed lovingly touching Prince William’s hand while they were out in public.

A photo, which was uploaded on a royal fan’s Instagram account, shows the mom of two wearing a matching blue coat and skirt, which she paired with a hat. Princess Diana is with Prince William and Prince Harry, who are both wearing their signature coat and tie.

The snap shows Princess Diana lovingly gesturing her eldest son to move a little, possibly because she wanted to talk to the archbishop behind them. Princess Diana turns her head towards Prince William, but the then-teenage Duke of Cambridge didn’t look at his mom.

In the second photo, Princess Diana is walking close to her youngest son, Prince Harry. She is smiling from ear to ear and Prince Harry also has a huge smile on his face. Prince William is standing behind his mom and younger brother with a serious look on his face.

The royal fan that uploaded the photo captioned it by saying that a mom would always protect her children. This is something that the Princess of Wales did when she was still alive.

And judging from the height difference between Prince William and Prince Harry, it is possible that the photo was taken shortly before Princess Diana passed away. Prince William was already a teenager when his mom died in a fatal car crash in Paris, which means that he was much taller than Prince Harry back then.

In one of the photos from Princess Diana’s wake, a much taller Prince William is walking behind Princess Diana’s coffin with Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince Harry, and Charles Spencer.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry mourned the loss of their mom for years. In fact, the royal siblings both said that they have not completely gotten over her death even though it happened over two decades ago.
