Princess Diana reportedly once declared that she wanted to have two daughters with a man who is not Prince Charles.

While speaking with Daily Mail, royal expert Sarah Bradford made the surprise claim about the late Princess of Wales by saying that she doesn’t know if the royal would’ve married Hasnat Khan or if she simply wanted to help his career.

“But it is true that when she met Dr. Christiaan Barnard at dinner, she told him she wanted to marry Khan and have two daughters,” she said.

Princess Diana and Khan dated after the former’s divorce from Prince Charles were finalized. However, they split up just months before Princess Diana died following a fatal car crash in Paris.

According to another royal expert, Princess Diana decided to split from the doctors because her mom, Frances Shand Kydd, didn’t approve of their relationship.

“Diana was devastated by her mother’s disapproval of the men in her life. Frances loved Diana, but as her daughter, could be very impulsive and emotional. She said some very hurtful things, but she loved her daughter… I don’t think she ever got over the circumstances surrounding the princess’ death,” former royal butler Paul Burrell said.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana also made headlines recently after her marriage to Prince Charles was revisited. A royal expert explained why Prince Charles opted to marry her instead of Camilla Parker Bowles when it was the latter that the future King really loved.

While speaking with Express, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that Camilla was not suitable for Prince Charles since he’s the heir to the throne. Camilla, on the other hand, has had multiple lovers.

“When Charles fell for Camilla Shand after they met in 1970, she would not at that time have been thought suitable as a wife of the heir to the throne as she had previous lovers,” he said.
