  • Paris Saint-Germain is in talks with Inter Milan for Achraf Hakimi's transfer, a report said
  • Real Madrid is also being linked to a move for Hakimi, another report said
  • PSG superstar Neymar has been dealing with controversies

As Neymar deals with controversy, Paris Saint-Germain might be taking a step closer to completing the transfer of a prolific striker.

After failing to defend its Ligue 1 title, Paris Saint-Germain has decided to add intensity to its attack. Among the first to possibly make his way to Le Parc des Princes is Inter Milan striker Achraf Hakimi, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported.

Inter Milan is hoping to keep the highly-rated striker, but the club’s financial woes have prompted high-ups to sell around £80 million ($113.5 million) worth of players, the report said. To begin the move, the reigning Serie A champions are considering parting ways with Hakimi, who could be the club’s “first big sacrifice” this summer, according to the outlet.

PSG is named as Hakimi’s top suitor with “fast negotiations” already happening at this point. The Parisians are said to be prepared to table an offer around the region of €60 million ($73 million), the report added. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

Renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, on the other hand, revealed that Nerazzurri is asking more than the aforementioned amount for Hakimi. Hence, La Liga side Real Madrid has yet to make an offer but could “match” any bid for the Moroccan star.

“Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Achraf Hakimi. Talks on but no agreement yet - Inter want more than €60m to sell Hakimi,” Romano tweeted.

“Real Madrid have a right of first refusal for Hakimi - they can match any offer but there’s no contact from Real board as of today,” he added.

This past season, Paris Saint-Germain has maintained its lethal form through Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. While there seems to be little problem inside the pitch, the latter found himself in the middle of controversy outside.

As he faces sexual assault allegations, Neymar has been cut by one of his major sponsors, Nike.

“Nike ended its relationship with the athlete because he refused to cooperate in a good faith investigation of credible allegations of wrongdoing by an employee,” Nike’s general counsel Hilary Krane told the Wall Street Journal.

Disappointed with the outcome, the Brazilian took his thoughts to social media and lashed out at the renowned company’s decision.

“I really don’t understand how a serious company can distort a business relationship that is supported by documents,” Neymar wrote on Instagram. “[To] state that my contract was terminated because I did not contribute in good faith to an investigation, is an absurd lie.”
