A middle school teacher in South Carolina has been placed on leave after a series of Tweets pointed toward his involvement in a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia three years ago.

Lexington County School District chief communications officer Mary Beth Hill told FITSNews Thursday that they received social media accusations on a certain 42-year-old social studies teacher at Pleasant Hill Middle School.

While the instructor was not named, Hill added in a statement that the employee was placed on leave while the district "thoroughly investigates the allegations."

“This is standard operating procedures. The district takes any incident like this seriously and is thoroughly investigating,” Hill said in her statement.

The person in question was later identified by family lawyer Elizabeth Millender as Tim Manning, Jr., according The Post And Courier. The publication, who was able to reach Manning's wife, Melissa, denied the allegations involving her husband.

Millender on the other hand said the family “have absolutely nothing to do” with the Twitter and blog allegations and that they are not members with any “prejudicial groups or associations” written in the social media posts.

“Any insinuation that the Mannings are responsible for the subject social media account is tantamount to false light and will be dealt with appropriately in a legal manner. The Mannings are good, hardworking public servants,” Millender added.

FITSNews revealed that the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) mentioned a certain Tim Manning in their 2019 Fall Issue, where he was described as a “longtime neo-Confederate movement malcontent.”

“Manning was blackballed from ID and the broader alt-right in summer of 2017 after a news outlet used his posts on The Daily Stormer under the handle 'SCNazi' to reveal that the far right was scheduling lodging for the Unite the Right event using Airbnb,” SPLC said.

Consequently, @IdentifyDixie singled out Manning in a series of Twitter threads where his conversations under the handle, @SCNazi, as well as his comments on the pro-Nazi website “The Daily Stormer” was exposed.

FITSNews added that @IdentifyDixie “identified Manning specifically” by scanning screenshots uploaded on the Facebook page, “Identity Dixie.” It then posted a screenshot of Manning's profile which was taken in early June 2017 and added another thread, this time showing the same profile photo Manning used on his Facebook profile “that now lays dormant.”
