With cheers of "USA! USA!" and whoops from adoring fans -- as well as a deluge of shredded paper from surrounding office buildings -- the 2015 Women's World Cup team paraded down New York City's "Canyon of Heroes.” In the days leading up to the celebration, media was awash with a familiar refrain: women's sports have yet to achieve financial and cultural parity with men's sports. For the afternoon, the "Canyon of Heroes" became the "Canyon of Heroines."
