American designer Dennis Basso recently said that Queen Elizabeth II is more stylish than Meghan Markle.

He also said that he would much rather have Her Majesty sit front row at his shows than the Duchess of Sussex. While speaking with the New York Post, he described Markle as a girl who is showing up style. However, the said that the 92-year-old monarch is a double snap.

Carla Stern, a journalist for Daily Mail, noted that Basso favoring the Queen over Markle is interesting because the mom of four has not changed her style since she sat on the throne.

“Many of the colorful coats and matching hats she wears for official appearances today look identical to ones she wore in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. She also accessorizes quite the same way, picking ladylike frame bags, low heels, and sparkly brooches to pair with nearly every outfit,” Stern noted.

“Meghan, on the other hand, is a bit more modern in her choices and certainly dresses with more variety. Since joining the royal family, she’s ditched some of her sexier outfits for polished, slightly more conservative looks, opting for streamlined coats, dresses, and skirts, with ladylike silhouettes and little to no embellishment,” Stern said.

The journalist also said that Markle has the magic touch or the ability to make anything she wears sold out. And based on her current style, it is more likely for Markle to wear a creation by Basso.

But despite their differences in style, the Queen and Markle seem to be getting along well with each other. Emily Hodgkin, a journalist for Express, said that the Queen doesn’t play favorites when it comes to Markle and Kate Middleton.

Following Markle and the Queen’s trip to Cheshire in June, Judi James, a body language expert, said, “It’s touching to see the very confident new royal bride looking sweet and rather nervous here on her first solo outing with the Queen.”
