Queen Elizabeth II was recently spotted at the Lexicon shopping center in Bracknell after the palace confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child together.

The 92-year-old monarch was welcomed by a huge crowd of people that she greeted with her signature wave and beautiful smile. She wore an aqua coat with black buttons down the center and paired it with her black gloves. The Queen also matched her aqua attire with her aqua hat that featured a small posy of pink flowers on the brim.

Queen Elizabeth II finished off her ensemble with her classic three-string pearl necklace, pearl earrings, and a stunning diamond art deco double clip brooch. Her Majesty also carried her black handbag while unveiling a commemorative plaque during the opening of the Lexicon Shopping Center.

While there, the Queen also met James Puxly, Lord Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire and Chief Executive Bracknell Forest Council Timothy Wheadon.

After the unveiling of the plaque, the Queen toured inside the shopping center and searched for a new hat. Angela Basten, an occasion hat buyer from Fenwick, showed the monarch some of the hats available for sale.

“We showed her the Rachel Trevor-Morgan hat and she commented on its unusual teardrop shape and said she’s never worn that shape,” she said.

And while still looking at the hats, the Queen made a remark regarding Princess Eugenie’s wedding day.

“When we were looking at the Vivien Sheriff hat, she said it would have been good for the wedding because it wouldn’t have flown off – she was making reference to what a windy day it was,” Basten said.

The Queen’s recent sighting at the Lexicon Shopping Center was the first time that she was seen in public since Markle’s pregnancy was announced. It was revealed that the Duchess of Sussex told the Queen, and the other members of the royal family that she’s expecting, days before Princess Eugenie’s nuptials.
