Queen Elizabeth II supports Kate Middleton’s future role in the monarchy.

The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge are not often seen together. According to insiders, Her Majesty’s favorite royal is Sophie, Countess of Wessex. However, the monarch has been dropping subtle hints that she supports Middleton.

According to Cheat Sheet, the monarch’s support for Prince William’s wife is visible in the way she has lent Middleton various items from her collection including necklaces, earrings and tiaras. Unlike Meghan Markle, Middleton has been spotted several times rocking different items from the monarch’s jewelry vault.

Last month, Middleton was stunning when she wore the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara when she showed up at the Queen’s annual Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace. Middleton also complemented her navy velvet gown by Alexander McQueen with a pair of silver drop earrings and sparkling necklace from the Queen’s jewelry collection.

Middleton also borrowed a pair of earrings from the Queen when she attended the NATO reception at Buckingham Palace. The royal mother of three showed up at the event without Prince William because the latter had another engagement. Middleton joined Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Melania Trump and Donald Trump at the event.

Middleton and Markle have different tastes in jewelry that’s why the latter rarely borrows the monarch’s jewelry. In fact, Markle only borrowed one item from the monarch’s vault and it was the tiara she wore on her wedding day.

According to Lauren Teff, a London-based stylist, Prince Harry’s wife keeps her jewelry simple but stylish and contemporary with a classic twist. On the other hand, Prince William’s better half goes for more classic items that she can easily find in the Queen’s vault.

“For Kate's style she keeps it simple but tends to go a bit more classic with her jewellery, think diamond earrings and pearl necklaces,” Teff explained.

Middleton’s importance in the monarchy has increased following Prince Harry and Markle’s departure. At present, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly planning a “distraction trip.” They are set to fly to Ireland in March.
