Sylvester Stallone has been promoting his new movie “Rambo 5: Last Blood” on social media for some time now. The actor had some fun with his promotion recently when he shared videos of his character fighting monsters like Godzilla, implying that his character has become too big to take care of mere mortals.

“Rambo’s lucky day, just when you thought he’d run out of things to slaughter,” Stallone captioned a post on Twitter, sharing a link to a video on Instagram.

The video shows scenes from the “Rambo” movies mashed together with movies like “Godzilla,” with the former soldier taking on these monsters.

While Stallone shared the video as a joke, it is not too far from what they had initially planned for “Rambo 5.” According to a previous report by Screen Rant, the original plan for the film involved the former soldier leading a group of soldiers to take on a monster that some scientists cooked up in a lab. The monster was described as being fast and bulletproof, making it nearly impossible to kill.

The original plot of the film was reportedly based on James Byron Huggins' 1999 novel “Hunter.” The plan was later dropped, and “Rambo 5: Last Blood” became a movie about a rescue mission of a woman who gets kidnapped by a Mexican cartel.

Since this is the last film of the franchise, there are sure to be some nostalgic moments for the fans. Another one of Stallone’s posts on Instagram shows the actor’s character John Rambo standing next to his younger self from a previous movie.

One way “Rambo 5: Last Blood” could connect all the previous movies will be through flashback scenes to show all the trauma and challenges that John has faced over the years. The trailer of the film has already teased how the character’s mental health has been affected by all the wars and the fighting. It remains to be seen how the warrior will finally end his journey.
