Nearly two weeks after Rich Piana's death, his girlfriend Chanel Jansen described their romance and explained her fans what "true heartbreak feels like." The bodybuilder died Aug. 25 weeks after he was hospitalized after he collapsed and hit his head in the bathroom of his Florida home.

In an emotional message, Jansen wrote on her Instagram account about how Piana always cared for her and what "a gentleman" he was. The message was posted Tuesday along with 10 photos of Piana and Jansen. Click here to see the photos.

Below is the full text of Jansen's message:

I now know what true heartbreak feels like... And as much as that tears me up inside and brings tears to my eyes...I can't help but realize I would never know what heartbreak feels like if I had never known what true love feels like.Like any love story ours had many ups and downs and even some time apart-that ultimately drew us closer together.

@1dayumay was a gentleman and treated me like a lady...always opened my door for me, insisted on paying the check, made me feel safe, and showed me affection like I've never known.

I've always fallen asleep in his arms and woken up to a kiss on my forehead. He ALWAYS said I love you-every day. Of course in the little things he would do for me I knew he loved me even without him saying it-he'd let me tell the same story 4 times and smile mid story and let me continue rambling on anyway, he'd always let ME pick what we watched on television, and he always let me have the last pint of Ben & Jerry's-even if it was his favorite flavor...but more importantly he always wanted to help me to improve on myself physically and mentally.

They say time is of the essence but as many of you know-Rich has never been on time. We always joked he would be late to his own funeral and although he said when that day came it was ok to have that arranged I realize not everyone gets our sick and twisted sense of humor sometimes.

He has always told me to just go with the flow and live in the moment. He's always felt I'm always so worried about how much time we have left. And in this instance I wish I'd known how much time we had left together. I would have hugged him longer, kissed him even more, and told him I love you 10 times as much as I usually did.

I hope that all of you have a true love that's worth a heartbreak someday. Mine is #myoneandonly #richpiana #loveofmylife#5percenters #legendsneverdie #truelove#loveneverdies #love #loyalty #respect#positivevibes #positivevibesonly

Piana was put in a medically induced coma following his hospitalization Aug. 7. Jansen had said that she was giving Piana a haircut when he collapsed and fell. When first responders arrived at his residence, they found 20 bottles of steroids, some white powder, straws and a credit card.

In a lengthy YouTube video, Jansen spoke out about Piana's death, saying that the bodybuilder did not die of a drug overdose and detailed what happened. She also said that Piana's cause of death was a heart attack and he “was gone before he even hit the floor.”

Piana, who died at the age of 46, was a former Mr. California and received the title in 1998. He had a huge social media presence with over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and Facebook. Most of his videos posted on his YouTube channel garnered 200,000 or more views.

Piana was earlier married to Sara Heimis, with whom he split after nearly one year of marriage.
