The cast of “Riverdale” recently won big at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. But other than their multiple awards, the cast of the hit CW show also shared new spoilers to whet fans’ appetites for the upcoming season.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Camila Mendes said that “Riverdale” Season 2 will be a level up from Season 1. “Like, everything’s taken to the next level. It really feels like level one was season one, and level two is season two, and the storylines are great. The relationships are being more fully fleshed out. It’s great,” she said.

Mendes, who plays the role of Veronica Lodge, will share a lot of scenes with her newest co-star, Graham Phillips. “The Good Wife” alum will be playing the role of Veronica’s ex-boyfriend, Nick St. Clair, and will appear in at least two episodes in Season 2. Nick’s arrival at Riverdale will cause some tension between Veronica and her boyfriend, Archie Andrews (KJ Apa).

Meanwhile, the cast of “Riverdale” also shared how close they have become since they started filming the series. According to Lili Reinhart, the cast have always been very close with each other, but in Season 2, they have gotten even closer. “I work with my best friends which is rare and again, these are my best friends. I’m here with my best friends. Can I say best friends one more time?” she said.

In related news, “Riverdale” brought home the choice drama TV show award at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards. Cole Sprouse, who brings to life the comic book character Jughead Jones, won the choice drama TV actor. “Riverdale” was also dubbed as the choice breakout TV show, while Sprouse’s rumored girlfriend, Reinhart, brought home the choice breakout TV star award.

Sprouse and Reinhart, who play the role of an onscreen couple, were also recognized at Sunday night’s event. Their characters, who were dubbed Bughead by fans, won the choice TV ship award. Mendes and Madelaine Petsch won the choice scene stealer and choice hissy fit categories, respectively.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EST.
