  • The Galaxy Unpacked event will feature new Samsung devices
  • These could include new foldable devices and more

Samsung has announced that it will unveil new devices via an online Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled to happen on Aug. 5.

The South Korean tech giant said that the event will let viewers “explore our latest Galaxy Devices ecosystem designed to empower your life.” The company's announcement didn't provide any specifics regarding what those devices could be. It simply implied that the company will be revealing more than one device on Aug. 5.

Interested parties can watch the live stream via Samsung.com at 10 a.m EDT.

Samsung didn't elaborate on what kind of device and technology or features will be showcased during the event. Reports, however, provide clues as to what these could be. Here's what to expect during the Galaxy Unpacked event next month.

A new Galaxy Fold

Last year's Galaxy Fold, the company's first foray into foldable smartphones, might have a successor and that successor could be unveiled during the event, CNet noted. The Galaxy Fold 2, as it might be called, can be expected to offer better features compared to the first Galaxy Fold.

The Galaxy Fold 2 could come with a Snapdragon 865 or 865 Plus processor, offer support for 5G, have a better front and rear-camera setup and have a larger battery compared to its predecessor. These details, however, remain unconfirmed at the moment.

A new Galaxy Z Flip

Fans can also expect a new Galaxy Z Flip during the event. Previous reports indicated that a new model, sporting a more powerful Snapdragon 865, appeared in Benchmark results.

This means Samsung could release a more powerful variant compared to the first model, which had a Snapdragon 855 inside. The new Galaxy Z Flip could also offer support for 5G wherever it is available.

A new brown color

Samsung might reveal the two devices, and more, in a new brown color. Previous reports said the company created a “new brown finish” that will be used on the foldable devices. The company's invitation seems to give credence to this. Just look at the image below.

That said, nothing is final except the event date. Fans should stay tuned and wait for more details to come.
