It’s been previously rumored that Samsung will release an Android smartphone with a triple camera setup on its back. Now, a leaked render and a hands-on image showing the Galaxy A7 (2018) may have already confirmed that rumor to be true.

The hands-on photo of the Galaxy A7 (2018) was leaked on Twitter by SamsungMobile.News. It shows that the handset will have a vertically aligned triple-camera setup on its back. The leaker also claims that the handset will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is something Sony has been doing for its previous Xperia smartphone.

Shortly after the hands-on photo was leaked on Twitter, the Dutch website GalaxyClub shared official-looking renders for the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018). The site also claims that the handset will have its fingerprint scanner on the side.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) looks a lot like the Galaxy A9, which was released in China this past summer. Up front, the handset comes with an Infinity Display complete with the signature 18.5:9 aspect ratio. There are still bezels around the screen, but they are very slim and give the handset a modern and updated look. The top bezel houses an in-ear speaker, an LED notification light, a proximity sensor and a front-facing camera, as pointed out by PhoneArena.

The frame of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) houses the volume keys and the power button/fingerprint scanner on the right side. The left side appears to be clean and it only has the SIM card slot. At the bottom, the handset appears to have a USB Type-C port and on its right is the 3.5mm headphone jack.

There’s currently no information yet on what the sensors are on the triple cameras of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018). However, it’s being speculated that at least one of the cameras will be equipped with a telephoto lens, which should allow for optical zoom and help in producing background blur. The device is also expected to have a glass back panel.

Android Authority believes the Galaxy A7 (2018) will have similar internal specs as the Galaxy A8 Plus. If true, then this means that the phone will be powered by the Exynos 7885 SoC along with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The Galaxy A7 (2018) might be announced on Oct. 11. Samsung has already sent out invites for a press event on that date and the company did hint at a new Galaxy device that has a total of four cameras.
