Sarah Ferguson made a big announcement ahead of Princess Eugenie's royal wedding.

The Duchess of York has been passionate about helping children. Months before her anticipated reunion with the royals for her daughter's nuptials, Ferguson made a big announcement for her charity. According to her, she will be merging with Street Child.

"We have solutions and will be able to educate and help 10,000 children of the 25,000 all living in this poverty. I am merging my foundation @ChildrenCrisis with @streetchilduk. So onwards and upwards @streetchilduk @TomDannatt #streetchild #childrenincrisis #nepal #janakpur," the Duchess of York wrote on Twitter.

Ferguson has been active with her charity works for children through her organization Children in Crisis. In fact, after attending the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding in May, she flew to Las Vegas for her "Little Red" series children's book.

"It's a big day for me. My idea is to find manufacturers today to help me manufacture Little Red, so that we can help more children's lives," she said (via Woman & Home).

According to Francesca Specter, a lifestyle reporter from Daily Express, Ferguson is building up her charitable image ahead of Princess Eugenie's royal wedding. The duchess is expected to reunite with the royals for her daughter's wedding in October.

Ferguson's reputation was tainted after she was caught in a scandalous photo with her financial advisor, John Bryan. According to royal expert, the controversy caused her divorce from Prince Andrew and explains why the royals have been cold and distant to her.

"She was famously photographed with her financial advisor and she was wearing a bikini in some garden in the south of France and he appeared to be sucking her toes," royal biographer Penny Juror said in the documentary. "She was at Balmoral when those photographs came out. The family came down for breakfast and there was Fergie in this shocking scene and that was the end."

Ferguson's relationship with the royals is getting better. In fact, Prince Harry invited her to his wedding. In addition, she was photographed with Queen Elizabeth II for the first time in years during the Royal Ascot.

As for Ferguson and Prince Andrew's relationship, the exes remain amicable. In fact, she still calls her ex-husband a "family." A number of royal fans want the two to remarry.
