Sarah Ferguson previously proved how much she liked Princess Diana. But towards the end of the Princess of Wales’ life, the two female royals stopped talking to each other.

During a previous interview, actor Kevin Costner revealed how Fergie became instrumental in the casting of Princess Diana in “The Bodyguards” sequel. While speaking on “Lorraine,” Costner also said that the mom of two liked Princess Diana very much.

“Something I always admired about Sarah was how open she was to that idea and how supportive of that idea she was and clearly how much she liked Diana. When we lost her, that was tragic… Incredibly tragic and private to me actually,” he said.

Costner also said that another thing he noticed about the Duchess of York was the fact that she never asked him or the production team if she could also be cast in the movie.

“She never joked about it, never hinted at it, she was like all about Diana. It was really incredibly respectful the way she was,” he said.

But in a shocking twist, it has been revealed that it was actually Princess Diana who was jealous of Ferguson. Even though they shared a close bond with each other, it didn’t take Prince Charles’ ex-wife very long to realize that the royal family preferred Ferguson over her.

According to Town & Country, the rivalry between the two female royals was so high since they were also different from each other. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife excelled at the different sports that Princess Diana wasn’t good at.

She also impressed Queen Elizabeth II by getting her pilot’s license. Prince Philip was also delighted over Ferguson’s decision to take up open carriage driving. During her interview with Andrew Morton in “Diana: Her True Story,” Princess Diana uttered a shocking revelation about her former best friend.

“[Fergie] wooed everybody in this family and did it so well. She left me looking like dirt,” she said.
