  • The Milwaukee Bucks dropped game two against the Miami Heat on a last-second call
  • Richard Jefferson compared Giannis Antetokounmpo to Scottie Pippen
  • Pippen responded to Jefferson’s take on social media

The former NBA champion Richard Jefferson compared Giannis Antetokounmpo to Scottie Pippen after a wild ending to game two of the second-round matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks. This caused Pippen to respond to the hot take via social media.

“Giannis might be a Pippen...there I said it! He needs his Jordan,” Jefferson initially tweeted.

This came after the Bucks lost against the Heat in a controversial last-second call by the officials. It was the two free throws by Jimmy Butler that propelled Miami up two games to none in their series.

Despite the Greek Freak tallying 29 points, 14 rebounds in 10 out of 18 shooting, it was not enough for the Bucks to take the win.

With Jefferson implying that the reigning MVP needs to find his Michael Jordan, it took an indirect jab to Pippen as a mere sidekick. The Hall of Famer took to Twitter to answer back to the remark.

“I’m not Giannis—I don’t have back-to-back league MVPs (he will in a matter of days)—and he’s not me,” Pippen wrote.

Throughout Pippen’s career, he was named as a multiple-time All-Defensive team member, an All-Star game MVP and a six-time NBA champion.

The question is... who were you as a player,” Pippen asked back.

The remark resulted in Jefferson yielding and answered back with Scott Burrell.

The series between the Bucks and the Heat proved to be a big challenge for the first-seeded Milwaukee. After dominating the regular season with a record of 56-17, they see themselves in a difficult predicament.

The momentum is completely on Miami’s side as Butler remains aggressive and motivated to close out the series. Adjustments will have to be made for the Bucks, as Antetokounmpo understands how important it is to learn from their experiences.

"It's about us. It's always gonna be about us. That's why we practice. That's why we go through our game plan. That's why we've got to come out and play harder. That's why we've got to make more shots. It's always gonna be about us," Antetokounmpo said by way of ESPN.

The next match will be crucial for Antetokounmpo and the rest of the Bucks as they have to win in order to avoid the dreaded 0-3 deficit.
