  • Justin Bieber’s ex has slammed her critics

Fans were quite excited when Selena Gomez announced that she will be releasing a new single called “Boyfriend” soon and the reason for their excitement was the title. A lot of her fans believed that she could finally be looking for a partner and were really happy for her. But it all came crashing down when Gomez announced that she is not looking for a boyfriend.

The “Good For You” hitmaker took to Instagram and did several stories to let her fans know that finding a boyfriend is not a priority for her. The stories have now been deleted, reports Elle. She started by saying that the song is all about falling down and getting back up but also knowing that a person does not need a partner to live their life happily.

The “Lose You To Love Me” songstress also explained that the song was written before the pandemic and wants to make it clear that having a boyfriend is not on her mind. The musician further added that all she can think of these days is the safety of the people.

“We wrote it (song) long before our current crisis, but in the context of today, I want to be clear that a boyfriend is nowhere near the top of my list of priorities. Just like the rest of the world, I am praying for safety, unity, and recovery during the pandemic,” Gomez said.

Gomez also announced that she will be donating $1 for every order of the “Rare” Deluxe Edition through her own store.

“I am personally donating to the Plus 1 COVID-19 relief fund as well as donating $1 of every order in my official store to the fund starting now. Rare (Deluxe), featuring 'Boyfriend' is out April 9th,” Gomez said.

The Plus 1 COVID-19 Relief Fund has been set up to help the musicians who have been affected by the outbreak.

Last month, the “Rare” hitmaker revealed that she might end up alone forever because she is finding it difficult to find someone special at this point. The songstress made that observation while breaking down the lyrics of her latest blockbuster song “Rare.” She further stated that the thought of being alone stays with her for almost fifteen minutes.

Recently, the “Rare” hitmaker slammed her critics for constantly telling her that she is not a great singer and revealed that it does not matter what they think because she works hard in creating melodies.
