Selena Gomez took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the official trailer of her upcoming Hulu comedy-drama series, "Only Murders in the Building," which is slated to release on Aug. 31, this year.

The 28-year-old singer stars alongside comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short in the series. The show is about these three people who reside in same apartment building and are obsessed with true crime. Suddenly they get involved in a murder and use their crime detective skills to investigate their neighbor's mysterious death.

The former Disney Star dropped the first look trailer of the show with the caption: "Everybody is a suspect. Only Murders in the Building arrives 8/31!"

In the trailer, Gomez is seen in a yellow fancy dress with bright red color headphones on and enters a lift with Short.

"A great murder mystery unpeels itself, like an onion," Martin says in the 30-second trailer, with Gomez adding in her own scene: "The secrets are the fun part". Short later chimes in: "Sometimes it's easier to figure out someone else's secret then it is to deal with your own."

At the end of the trailer, Short and Martin tell Gomez that they are going to "look for clues" and encourage her to team up with them.

Martin also shared the trailer on his Twitter account Tuesday.

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement as soon as the trailer was dropped on social media. One of the users praised Gomez for her acting apart from her singing career.

"When we saw the news that Selena Gomez was going to act again we were left wondering how she could surprise us and in Only Murders in the building Gomez shows that her performance remains one of the best," one Twitter user wrote.
