Singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes has revealed that every song that he has ever written thus far was inspired by his girlfriend Camila Cabello.

The musician made the surprising claim in the new trailer for his Netflix documentary “In Wonder.” In the clip, the artist opened up about their relationship saying that every song he made was about the former Fifth Harmony member.

“My song comes on the radio or something and I am like, ‘Everything is about you. They have always been about you.’ She goes, ‘What do you mean?’ I am like, ‘They are all bout you. Like every song I ever wrote,’” Mendes said in the trailer.

The trailer also features multiple shots of the couple while performing together.

The couple met each other in 2014 while touring together as opening acts of the Austin Mahone tour. The “Never Be The Same” hitmaker opened up about her first encounter with Mendes in an interview with V Magazine and revealed that she always wanted to “hang out” with him at the time, but Mendes was always busy.

“I remember thinking we met on the Austin Mahone tour, and I remember I wanted to hang out with you, but you were always on the tour bus, just learning guitar,” Cabello said.

In 2015, they came out with a song entitled “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and sparked dating rumors. Since then, they were seen together on numerous occasions and frequently made appearances on each other’s social media accounts.

In June of last year, the duo released another song entitled “Senorita.” The track turned out to be a gigantic hit and social media was once again abuzz with dating rumors.

In September 2019, the “Treat You Better” hitmaker finally confirmed that he’s in a “relationship” but didn’t specifically mention Cabello. In a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Mendes was seen talking to fans about his relationship, but he couldn’t say much about it.

“Honestly, I wanna say I wanna talk to you guys about this stuff but it’s not just me in the relationship. There’s another person involved and I can’t say things that I feel. It’s not just me deciding you know?” he said in the video clip.

The duo has been inseparable ever since and shocked their fans with their makeout session on Instagram last year.

“In Wonder” will be available for streaming on Netflix on Nov. 23.
