Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer of Shiba Inu, seemingly confirmed that Shibarium, the highly anticipated layer-2 solution of the ecosystem, will launch next year.

Shibarium is one of the most awaited projects of the Shiba Inu development team and over the past months, the Shiba Inu community, more popularly known as the Shib Army, has been wondering if the layer-2 solution would launch this year.

While Kusama and the rest of the team have maintained their stance on the project's release window, the lead developer recently confirmed that Shibarium will not launch this holiday season, implying that it could officially roll out sometime in 2023.

In a tweet over the weekend, Kusama assured the community that Shibarium "will come very soon" after they said their holiday greetings. They also encouraged the Shib Army to spend time with their family and enjoy "these next days," teasing that "next year is an important one for humanity."

Some members of the community speculated that Shibarium is already finished and is just waiting for its official launch, something which they said is what Kusam is implying.

A few days ago, the pseudonymous lead developer graced the Shiba Inu Telegram channel and shared some interesting details with the community.

When asked about the release date of Shibarium, Kusama said that the community should think about how they would build or offer things on the layer-2 solution, seemingly suggesting that the Shib Army should start building their portfolio to get the most out of the project when it officially launches.

They also promised to the community that the upcoming project will be available soon enough and noted that it will "not [be] that long," adding that the team is currently "putting ducks in a row" and noting that they will not yet release it because of the "holidays."

Kusama also emphasized in the Telegram channel that Shibarum "is about a collective effort to combat the shadowcats of the world and the current conditions we all are subject to, then you know that timing is everything and your contribution is more important than WEN."

Before its official launch, the Shiba Inu development team will first release the Shibarium documentation and will roll out the beta version of the project for users to try it out.

After those activities have been completed, the team will definitely make the layer-2 solution accessible to the public.

SHIb, the native token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, is slowly regaining its lost price. As of 9:48 a.m. ET on Monday, SHIB was trading up 0.41% at $0.000008295 with a 24-hour volume of $59,052,996, according to the latest data from CoinMarketCap.
