It is pouring heavily and Kinoshita tells Rikou to head home in episode 3. Kinoshita tells him that he will speak to the manager about him leaving early. Rikou rushes back and Haru follows him. Rikou asks her why she is following him and she tells him that they live in the same direction.

Haru asks him about his rival showing up. She tells him that she has declared war against Shinako leaving him shocked. She mentions that by doing this, nobody has to worry about hurting the other.

Rikou tries to tell Haru that he is not the person she is thinking he is. He tries to tell her that she will get nothing out of talking to him. He adds that he cannot be nice to her. Haru understands what Rikou is going through in life and she knows that he doesn’t have the mind space for anything related to relationships.

She announces that she doesn’t have any demands and would like it if he falls in love with her someday. Haru is happy with what she has with him right now, at that moment. Rikou is surprised.

Later in the episode, Rikou has missed work for three straight days and Haru learns that he is sick. Meanwhile, Shinako visits Rikou. She tells him that he found out about him from Fukuda. She asks if he had dinner and gives him simmered vegetables and takikomi rice.

Rikou is taken aback and he is left confused. In the episode, Haru and Rikou also grow closer to each other.
