Their marital struggles have continued to pull fan focus despite the main source of their problems happening more than half a decade ago, and now, “Sister Wives” star Meri Brown is setting the record straight on where things actually stand for her and Kody.

After a recent episode of the TLC series showed Kody and his first wife heading back to Las Vegas to see their therapist and the two seeming to feel as if their relationship was beyond saving, fans became concerned about how things might be now, especially since Meri still is a part of the family. In an interview with Us Weekly, Meri admitted that the moment was taken out of context on the show, and what she really meant at the time was that they needed to find a way to figure out what their next chapter looked like.

“That was a little bit taken out of context. It was not me saying, ‘This is over, I’m done,’” she explained. “What it was, was me saying where we were and what had happened was done and over, and now we need to figure out a new normal for us [and] figure us out.”

She also went on to reveal where things were today, admitting more work needed to be done, but she and Kody were both committed to doing it.

“Any improvement that we can make on the relationship between me and him, I think it would be great,” she said.

Meri also reiterated her commitment to the family, admitting that she made the decision to stay committed after her Catfishing scandal blew up, and she intends to stick by it.

It isn’t the first time Meri has had to address rumors about the state of her marriage, which fans wondered about ever since the family first went public, but more so after she and Kody legally divorced in 2014 so he could marry Robyn, his fourth wife, and legally adopt her children from a previous marriage. Her Catfish scandal soon followed, and since then, it has seemed as though she and Kody have not fully moved past their problems.

Meri even took to Twitter to blast trolls who criticized her marriage after the most recent episode of the show, after they berated Kody’s treatment of her during an interview segment, and then turned on her when she corrected someone who said she was no longer the first wife. Kody also jumped in to blast critics who told him he didn’t know how to be the best husband he could be to all of his wives.

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on TLC.
