“Saturday Night Live” is indeed live tonight. An all-new episode will air on March 9, and NBC has some serious talent on “SNL” this week.

Idris Elba will host Season 44, episode 15. Viewers might know him as People’s Sexiest Man Alive, the guy who is always rumored to be taking over as James Bond or one of his many acting roles.

The “SNL” host has been seen as Heimdall in the “Thor” and “Avengers” films, and he is set to star as the villain in “Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw” in August. Before that, he’ll star in the Netflix comedy “Turn Up Charlie,” out March 15, and he’ll reprise his role as a detective on BBC America’s “Luther” Season 5, premiering June 2 at 8 p.m. EST.

Ahead of his “Saturday Night Live” appearance, Elba posted a video diary to Facebook where he shared some of his experiences throughout the week preparing for the big night. “It’s fun, but it’s tough,” he admitted. “You’re blind cold-reading skits, and you have to be committed…everyone here is amazing. They’re so supportive. They want the show to be amazing, and this has got to be the toughest day that I’ve had so far. But it’s dope.”

This is Elba’s first time hosting “SNL.” First-time musical guest Khlaid will join the actor at Studio 8H.

The recording artist will be promoting his new album, “Free Spirit,” which will be released on April 5. A short film sharing the title will also be released in theaters on April 3 for 24 hours only.

Ahead of his “Saturday Night Live” performance, Khalid dropped a new single, “My Bad.” The new track, along with singles “Better” and “Talk,” all download instantly when fans pre-order the new LP.

“SNL” will air Saturday, March 9 on NBC in its usual live coast-to-coast timeslots: 11:30 p.m. EST, 10:30 p.m. CST, 9:30 p.m. MST and 8:30 p.m. PST.
